UP labourers are eligible for free Health Insurance plans.

Free Health Insurance

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, declared two insurance schemes on International Labour Day.

On Saturday, the Uttar Pradesh government declared health insurance of Rs 5 lakh for labourers, as well as a Rs 2 lakh cover if they die in an accident or become physically disabled.

On Labor Day, the CM revealed the plans while virtually engaging with workers and labour organisations. Via various schemes, the state government is dedicated to working for the welfare and upliftment of labourers.

In the first outbreak, the government provided free rations as well as a 'Bharan Poshan Bhatta,' or pension, to the workforce. The financial assistance had helped about 54 lakh labourers. Benefits were also provided to over 40 lakh immigrants who migrated to the state.

The government is taking precautions to ensure that essential programmes and operations are not harmed. Under the CM Abhyudaya Scheme, it provides free coaching to children of labourers, assisting them in achieving good results in board examinations.

The government also runs a Kanya Vivah Sahayata Yojana, which provides financial assistance for the weddings of labourers' daughters.

The Uttar Pradesh Labour (Employment Exchange and Job) Commission is established to assist employees in finding jobs. Covid support stations had been set up in all departments, and people could go there if they had any issues.

Employers have been told to arrange sanitisers, thermal scanners, and pulse oximeters at their workplaces for the labourers.
