The lockdown will begin on May 12 and last for ten days, until May 21. Shops and other events will be permitted only from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., according to a state government notice. The cabinet has also agreed to issue a global tender for vaccine purchases. The decision comes only days after Chief Minister KCR said that a lockdown in the state will cripple the economy.
