Who can submit Form 8A?
Form 8A can be submitted by any person, whose name is already on the electoral roll.
Where to file Form 8A?
Form 8 can be filed at selected locations where the draft voter list is published during the correction period. It can also be filed with the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer and Electoral Registration Officer of the constituency. Draft voter lists are usually published in places where polling stations are located.
If the review period is not available, the form may be submitted to the Electoral Registrar Officer (regional) only.
How do you fill form 8A?
Form 8A must be filled up as follows:
Step 1. In Part I of the form, write your name, Part No, and serial No. of the election document in which you registered. Write down your EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) number and fill in some details.
Step 2. In Part II of the form, write the full new address (you must attach proof of address).
Step 3. In Part III of the form, state the time you stayed at the new address.
Step 4. In Part IV of the form, write Part No. of the list of elections where residents of the area you have switched to register. This category is optional and if you do not have the information, you can leave it blank.
Step 5. Part V of the form should only be filled if you are applying for some other person's transposition of entry.
