Goa Scholarship – Eligibility:

Each below-provided scholarship can be availed by the Goan students. However, the suitability of each learning program varies accordingly. The table shown below describes in detail the eligibility process for various Goa scholarships.

·        Students must have an offer or proof of admission/application for a Master's program in the UK.

·        Students must have an Indian Passport and must be in India at the time of application.

·        At the time of application, students must be 30 years or younger.

·        They must show an excellent academic record and external achievement.

Vidyadhan Scholarship Program, Goa State Govt

For all

·        This scholarship is for students who have passed Class 10 or the same SSLC from Goa.

·        Students must obtain at least 90% marks or CGPA 9 in Class 10 or the SSLC exam.

·        Different students with disabilities are required to have a mark of at least 75%.

·        The annual income of the family students should be less than INR 2 lakh.

National Talent Search Exam (NTSE)

For all

·        The NTSE is open to all students who have passed Class 10 at a recognized school.

·        Open Distance learning students can also apply if they are under 18 years old.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

For all

·        KVPY is open to Grade 11 learners with a mark of at least 75% in Maths and Science subjects during the Class 10 board examination (65% of SC / ST / PwD students).

·        Grade 12 learners with a minimum mark of 75% in Maths and Science in the Class 10 board examination (65% of SC / ST / PwD students).

·        For undergraduate students (Basic Science) or Integrated MSc, MS students with a minimum of 60% marks in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology on Class 12 board (50% of SC / ST / PwD students).

Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities

·        This scholarship is for students studying in grades 11, 12, Graduate, Postgraduate, technical or Vocational courses, MPhil or Ph.D.

·        Students must obtain at least a 50% or equivalent mark in the previous examination.

·        Students must have a family income of not more than INR 2 lakhs in all sources.

·        Representatives should be made up of minority groups (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians / Parsi).

Pre-Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities

·        This is a scheme for students in Grades 1 to 10.

·        Students must obtain at least a 50% or equivalent mark in the previous test.

·        Students must have a family income not exceeding INR 1 lakh from all sources.

·        Qualified Applicants should be from a minority community (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians / Parsi).

·        Monthly stipend of INR 5000 and an annual contingency grant of INR 20,000 for Graduation and integrated 1st to 3rd-year students

·       Monthly stipend of INR 7000 and an annual contingency grant of INR 28,000 for MSc and integrated 4th to 5th-year students

·        A scholarship of INR 7000 per annum for Classes 11 and 12

·        INR 10,000 per annum for technical and vocational courses of Classes 11 and 12

·       INR 3000 per annum for undergraduate and postgraduate students

·       Maintenance allowance of up to INR 1200 per month for 10 months

Application Process:

The process for applying for the Goa Scholarship is simple and straightforward. It is a simple four-step process that ensures you successfully complete all required documentation before the due date.

According to your reference, the Goa Scholarship application process is provided below:

Step 1: Download the scholarship program from the official website of the British Council.

Step 2: Complete the downloaded form in word format and attach a scanned copy of the latest passport size image to the appropriate section.

Step 3: You need to provide proof of certain things such as age, address, etc. Therefore, you should collect the following documents:

·        A copy of a birth certificate to verify your age

·        A copy of the passport identification page to verify your address

·        A copy of the conditional/unconditional acceptance letter from a UK university.

·        One academic reference book and one authorized letter

Step 4: Once you have completed all three steps listed above, you must submit the entire application package (application form, supporting documents, photographs) to the British Council.

You can send your application package by email or post. Those who want to send an email should ensure that their scanned application package is not more than 10 MB.
